About me

What can I say? How did I end up here?

I love that you can capture a moment that you see at the time and make a picture, it fascinated me as a child growing up!

I fell in love with photography as a child messing with my Dads film camera. I used to change the settings in manual and take the same picture and wait to see what came back from the lab!

I have always had an interest in technology and how it impacts our lives. When the early digital cameras came to market and I could afford one I thought it was incredible and was asked by my Mum "where does the film go.." Ha !

Family

I am a family man blessed with 2 adult daughters and my beloved son. Not that often these days I can get them all together for a picture so I delved into the family album for this one here!

I also have a passion for animals and when im not taking pictures or out getting lost in the fells hiking I spend time volunteering at a local stables. As well as people portraits I do love to take pictures of pets and, one of the reasons I started the Park Shoot initiative !

Adventuring

If not spending family time then I can often be found in the mountains around the UK where I lead and organise trips of small groups to go exploring, hiking and scrambling! I love the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District and the Peak district, and planning to explore more of Scotland over the coming months.

Career

Away from Photography I have spent many years in corporate business mainly in the communications industry with various roles, from Engineering, Product Management, Business Consulting and Marketing! To name a few...

I continue to keep a foot in Business consulting and Marketing, mainly with web development, content creation and funnel building. I do feel my photography is my escape from the old corporate machine. It gives me the freedom of expression to go pro create which I find very fulfilling!
